The 3 day visit gave me a precious opportunity to visit enterprises and discuss with their representatives about the latest products and future trends. The InvesTaiwan Service Center provides insights on entrepreneurship opportunities and requirements to fulfill in order to obtain a work permit in Taiwan. It was an eye-opener for me because I was not aware of Point System for foreigners. MiTAC provides solutions for electronics and manufacturing services and has an extensive experience in system assembling and providing traffic solutions for hi-tech cities. This company provides easy card services which can be used for transportation fee charges. Other projects of MiTAC include providing services for Japan’s 2020 Olympics and metro rail project in Chennai, India. CTCI Corporation provides engineering services like automation for plants, chemical additives for refinery and petrochemical plants, and construction management. Students from Chemical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering background can find great opportunities here. Advantech is the producer of personal computers. The introduction on products includes IoT, Embedded Systems, Automation Controllers, and Medical Equipment. There was a demonstration of products like automated systems developed for personnel to check factory efficiency. Another notable product is the cloth outfit suggestion based on face recognition. Rhymebus manufactures electronics goods. It has R&D studies on saving energy from cycling machines in gym. It is also a robotic company that provides products from car engines to healthcare equipment. The whole visit was very informative and gave me an exposure to Taiwanese organizations and its cultures. I am very thankful to CTCI Foundation and staffs. This visit was very helpful for expatriates like us and should be continued in the future as well. This visit was important to me because after coming to study in Taiwan, I always wondering about job opportunities here. I used to have an impression that Taiwanese enterprises are mostly electronics companies. But after the visit, I found out that Taiwanese companies produce a wide variety of products such as software, electric equipment, and robots.
