<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The 2016 Enterprise Visit organized by CTCI for graduate students was a complete success. During the trip, we had the opportunities to travel around Taiwan, visit historical place and most importantly, companies, the main purpose of the trip. To put into words what has been memorable and serves as a complete amazing new experience, I won’t go further without mentioning it was the first time during my journey in Taiwan that I got the opportunity not only to visit enterprise and see how they manufacture products but also to talk and discuss jobs opportunities with companies’ executives. I personally learn something special from each company and along the way that let me figure out where I can probably try to apply for a job opportunity. First the Linkou Thermal Power Plant that we visited first showed me interesting view on Taiwan energy system. Delta group appeared to me as a very innovative, technologically driven and devoted to save the planet. It was a great experience to get to see a worldwide known company working to provide long lasting solutions to the definitely crucial environmental issues we are facing in the world today. As one of the executive said, it is a very good workplace where ones can build an amazing career. The Phison Electronics Company draws all my attention based on the famous story of their chairman. Having listening to him and one of executives, I was left with the conclusion that it is importance in the world is inversely proportional to its size. The dynamic of one of their employees talking to us showed how it can be a good place to work. Later on, one the company that draws my interests was A-Pro. As an industrial engineer I felt in love with their system and already feel like working there. Galant Precision Machine Company appeared also very unique in its style with not so many employees yet providing high quality and managed to be successful. Many thanks to this program and CTCI Foundation, I can notice a good movement launched by Taiwan to attract foreigners to have a beautiful career here.This opportunity to visit Taiwan’s industries and know about their criteria to hire foreigners is a good push up given to any graduate here in their process of building a career in the Heart of Asia.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Firstly, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to CTCI Foundation for giving me a practical experience about working environment in Taiwan. In this enterprise visit, my first impression is the international friends who come from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Nepal, India, etc. It is a good chance for me to understand about their cultures which I had never known before. For example, Bijay from Nepal told that Nepal is located in the world’s tallest mountain Himalayas where have been suffering seriously earthquake. By visiting the Taiwan’s companies, I were also opening my mind about their facilities and manufacturing sites such as: A-Pro Tech Company, a bicycle’s parts manufacturer, they took us to their manufacturing site to introduce about the parts of the bicycle including aluminum material, hydraulic injection, welding, etc. Because I am studying in construction management field, I learned a useful management skill from this company about how the supervisors use the employee cards to evaluate the employee skills and to identify the effective or ineffective works from the workers. Furthermore, we are now facing the increasing global warming. And I am really surprised that there is an increasing trend of many Taiwan’s companies which have been caring about the environment protection by adopting green energy. For example, Delta Group’s R&D Center is one of well-known green buildings, using special glasses for replacing the traditional concrete walls, integrating the rainwater harvesting system with grass irrigation system, and installing solar photovoltaic (PV) system to provide partly energy to their building. Finally, this enterprise trip not only give me potential opportunities to know more about the Taiwan’s companies but also help me in applying job in Taiwan.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My name is Anh Nguyen (Stacie), a Vietnamese graduate student in Taiwan. As foreign students, it is not easy for us to get in touch with Taiwanese companies and to experience working environment. This 3-day trip gave me that great chance to visit different companies around Taiwan, including Linkou Thermal Power Plant (Taipower, conctractor: CTCI Corporation), Delta Group’s R&D Center, Phison Electronics Corporation, A-Pro Tech Company, and Gallant Precision Machining Company. It is even more wonderful for me that I did visit A-Pro Tech, the company I will interview for, which allowed me to meet their staffs and get deep understanding about the products, manufacturing process and future plan. Lucky me right? I do feel like I receive a lottery knowing that. Keep calm guys! I will make you more jealous. I also met so many talented international friends who inspired me with their passion and experience living in Taiwan. We traveled all the way from Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, to Nantou and tasted each region’s best specialties as well as enjoyed beautiful landscape of this island. Such great three days gave me lifetime friendship, valuable contacts and hopefully a career in Taiwan.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I always thought that job applications in Taiwan were a hit or miss. Taiwan is an emerging economy with a plethora of potential foreign talents. But most of us are clueless. We know the value we can contribute to Taiwan’s economy but we are lost trying to establish a career. Because we don’t have the tools and connections to reach our applications, CTCI foundation serves as a North star, a guiding light, to give me this opportunity to see my potential working future in Taiwan. Furthermore, with the gallant efforts of InvesTaiwan Service Center serve, foreign talents will have a one-stop access to possibly the job of their dreams. For me, I do not fear venturing my own start-up company in Taiwan, just like the forerunner, Mr. Pen, chairman of Phison, because I know that there is an organized system for me, we can not only work hand in hand but also bolster Taiwan’s economic prosperity. With you, I look forward not only having a job, but also a career in Taiwan.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Currently, Taiwan’s industries have been providing high-end quality service or products with the least cost. But it has to follow the developing of “Industry 4.0”, in addition to condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, components and systems are able to gain self-awareness, which will provide management with more insight on the status of the factory. During this enterprise visit, I have observed one of the most well-known Intelligent Green Buildings in Taiwan, which was built by Delta Group. It provides a comfortable environment for people working there, and then significantly improves the overall productivity of Delta. From this point, I think “Industry 4.0” is coming soon in the human life. In addition, I also understand how the international young talents affecting the development and working culture of a successful company (Phison Electronics Corporation). <P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 我有幸被中技社遴選為企業參訪的學員之一。我們訪問了台灣的全球攬才中心、林口電廠、台達電、野寶、群聯和均豪等幾家公司。攬才中心是台灣政府為了引進全球科技人才，協助台灣發展的單位，參訪過程中，卓講師告訴了我們如何能留在台灣工作，以及台灣對於國際人才的渴望。在參訪的各家企業中，最難忘的莫屬台達電了，除了全自動的機器手臂，全球網絡監控等等一系列高科技的東西展現在我的眼前之外，在他們智慧綠建築中的室內通風系統，電梯節能系統等等和我所學的micro-grid control 有些千絲萬縷的關係，使我更加的注意這個公司。此外我也注意到了群聯公司的高性能SSD芯片的生產研發能力和他們全面的員工福利政策。經過這三天的活動，我的眼界無疑更擴寬了，世界很大，優秀的公司很多，我們仍需要努力學習。再此再度感謝中技社的領導們能給我這次參訪台灣先進公司的機會。

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 這次參訪活動帶給我的收穫頗豐。近年臺灣面臨核電重啟問題，而作為一個電力相關專業的學生，我對台電公司是很感興趣的。和大陸的電網公司、發電廠比較分散的形式不太一樣，臺灣電力公司是發電、輸電、配電全包。這次參觀的林口電廠擴建工程，恰好碰上供電吃緊的時段，所以當我們參觀的時候，林口電廠的機組已經有一台即時擴建完畢，才能確保電力的正常供應，讓我深感電力行業的從業者不容易。另外在參訪台達電的過程中，我也拓展了先前侷限的視野。我原來以為台達電僅作為OEM廠商給電腦整機提供電源，亦或是給專業設備提供電源適配器。參觀後才發現，現在電源業務只占台達所有業務的一小部分，更多的給客戶提供一種整體的解決方案，從節能減排到工業4.0。這個應該是一個企業順應時代變化，結合自身優勢不斷轉型的結果吧。其他的企業也都很有代表性，比如最近在SSD主控晶片行業比較有名的PHISON群聯電子，和自行車車架的代工廠商APRO野寶。但讓我感觸最深的是，是靠臺灣島上，千千萬萬工作崗位上的勞動者實實在在的努力奮鬥，不分高低貴賤，為了社會進步為了家庭而奉獻，那些人才是社會的中堅力量。最後，還是真心地感謝這次陪伴我們的來自中技社和攬才中心的工作人員，謝謝。

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I am Urangoo Saranchimeg, coming from Mongolia. I study for MBA in National Chin-Yi University of Technology. It is my big luck to participate “2016 Enterprise Visit for International Graduate Students”. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to CTCI Foundation for giving me this great experience. All of accompanied staff from CTCI Foundation and InvestTaiwan Service Center were very kind, helpful, and cared our every step. Companies which we visited were nice and gave us very useful information for our future career. We had a chance to have a face to face discussion with them, and they even show us their assemble lines, which were very impressive. I am also very happy that I got so many new international friends. We shared valuable information and understood each other’s cultures during this trip. These 3 days was very incredible, memorable, creative, motivational, and one of the wonderful days in my student life in Taiwan. And I thought this event will be very valuable for my future career. <P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This report is based on my experience during the enterprise visit organized by CTCI Foundation in June (22-24), 2016. The enterprise visit started with an orientation meeting with the representatives of Invest Taiwan Service Centre. During this meeting, I came to know about the work permit regulations for the international students in Taiwan. Specifically, the points table illustrating the required number of points in each category was very useful to understand the work permit evaluation process. The most important thing I learnt during this meeting was the industry trend and the hot recruitment domains like Industry 4.0, bio medicine and devices, and smart systems. During the trip, there are several companies caught my attention. The first company was the Linkou Thermal Power Plant constructed by CTCI Corporation for the Taiwan Power Company. The power generation process flow was illustrated with an emphasis on the initiatives taken towards maintaining a clean and green environment. The next company was Delta Group’s R&D centre in Taoyuan. Being an electrical engineering student, I am highly motivated by the versatile electronic product lines of this company. This company emerged as the role model for a smart green system with dedicated efforts in energy efficient power products, health care systems, human machine interfaces, and several industrial automation systems like PCB assembly, SMT and motor production systems. And I also got an opportunity to visit Phison Electronics Corporation in Hsinchu. They gave an exposure to us on the current technologies and business trends of the company, and eliminated the communication gap between students and the company. I felt this experience when I discussed directly with the Human Resources Manager and the R&D Director of Phison. I was introduced to know the company’s expectations, policies, benefits and the work culture. The visit would be incomplete without the final day cultural trip and it was such a great pleasure to visit the beautiful places like Sun Moon Lake. When I visited the Xuan Zan temple, I am very happy to notice that the monk had visited several parts of India including my home town. Above all, I am able to contact several key persons of the companies which I visited during this trip, and it would be a great opportunity for me to find a suitable job in near future. Throughout the trip, I felt this trip was well planned and executed. It is such a valuable trip, and I would be thankful to the CTCI Foundation.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The company visit hosted by CTCI Foundation certainly broadened my horizon with seeing several high-tech firms and meeting many good friends from many universities in Taiwan. This program was totally worth participating even within only a few days. The companies which we visited during the trip all are located in different spots around Science Park and industrial area in Taiwan. Those areas are really not accessible for anyone except who work there. This trip allowed us to see their working routines. It was great opportunity to get the benefit of knowing their deep insight in order to make a decision for job application for particular company. Without this experience, I would never know what real job qualifications are all about. All of the companies we visited give us really great hospitality, and they were also willing to provide us all information we wanted to know about them. Moreover, it was a good chance for me to directly talk with the managers and exchange business cards to contact them in the future. Even though some industries are not related to my study field, but it was still a good opportunity to see and learn about another area for the sake of knowledges. This trip was not only for visiting companies but also making a friendship. I met many intelligent students from many different countries. We had a lot of good time along the trip to discuss and exchange knowledges/experiences about living in Taiwan as a foreign student. For me, this is the ultimate goal for living in Taiwan, making a connection with Taiwanese companies, local people, and other foreign students like me. So that we could make things become possible all together.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It was my great pleasure to be a participant in the Enterprise Visit for International Graduate Student, 2016 organized by CTCI foundation. I learned lots of things from this trip. During the trip, some companies we visited taught me new ideas about the business models and their working environment, such as A-Pro Tech. Company and Gallant precision Machining Company. And some other companies taught me important lessons which I might not be well aware of before. For example, as we all know that thermal power generation emitted a lots of GHGs, the technology used by Linkou Thermal Power Plan to reduce the emission of CO2 was impressive. Besides, Delta Group has been using state-of-art energy saving technology and providing free electric charger for those employees who owned electric vehicles to save energy as well as to protect environment. Others technologies used in the elevators, lighting system and reserving rainwater for useful purpose are impressing. Finally, I was also inspired by the story of the Phison’s founder, Mr. Pen. The achievements achieved by him in such a young ages is outstanding, and it is a great honor to have this opportunity to have a face to face discussion with him.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My name is Vinsensius Viktor Limas from Indonesia. I am studying at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology for master degree, majoring in geotechnical engineering in construction engineering department. From the Enterprise Visit program held by CTCI foundation, I got a lot of experiences and knowledge. In this program, we have visited InvestTaiwan Service Center (ITSC) which provides job recruitment service and solutions for working issues in Taiwan. Besides, we also visited five other companies/factories in Taiwan and they all have given an introduction about their company profile and I think all of them are wonderful companies to work and provide their worker a positive and productive work environment. During the first day, we have a chance to visit the control room of Linkou Thermal Power Plant which has a huge and complicated system about the gas analyzer, turbine, seawater supply system, fueling system, etc. I am very impressed because all of them can be easily monitored here. Delta’s R&D Center is also a very impressive and eco-friendly place. It shows the high commitment of Delta to the environment. I learned how they construct and manage the smart building such as by using transparent glass, sunlight roof, rainwater storage system, elevator and parking lot system, etc. Those systems can provide enough lighting and radiation reflection, also efficiently use the available resources to save much energy. They also keep monitoring the energy saving performance as the real parameters. In this R&D center, many wonderful efficient power products are produced such as power supplies, telecom power, and PV inverters”. In the next day, we first visited Phison. They have very competent R&D teams, advanced and efficient technologies, ISO certified products, and also many patents. It has the markets internationally such as North America, Europe, Japan, China, Taiwan, etc. They keep producing the best products to satisfy the demand of the data storage market including NAND Flash controllers, USB, SD, eMMC, PATA, and SATA. And after that I also visited A-Pro, which produces bicycle and its sparepart. The manufacturing processes are also amazing, and you can feel A-Pro’s dedication through their team work and quality control. Although the company’s branches are still limited, I believe they have high potential to grow internationally. The last company we visited is GPM. This company has a very discipline system in order to make sure everything is precise. It develops some products such as semiconductor, lenses, medical, optical, laser applications, chemical, and precision machinery. The production processes are also very neat and maintained for its quality”. Although, for now I am still looking my desired job but I am grateful to join this event. It has given me a broader knowledge and relations.I hope that CTCI Foundation can keep committing to support international graduate students in Taiwan. Thank you very much.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During this enterprise visit, I have had the opportunity of getting many experiences and thoughts from several companies in Taiwan. I got a better understanding of how companies in Taiwan work as well as their working environments and facilities. I also realized about what kinds of working positions are the most required for these types of corporations, in this way I can focus my abilities and characters to match with these companies properly. I have seen with my own eyes the high involvement of entrepreneurship that has lead Taiwan to become a strong economy during the past years. Most of these companies share the same objective of internationalization and constant expansion. These organizations seem to be highly interested in recruiting foreigner to become part of their workforce, they really appreciate the qualities that a competent foreigner can offer for them, and I believe this is a positive aspect for their continuous development. I got many useful information and experiences from high-level managers that made me get a deeper understanding of the working and entrepreneurial life in Taiwan. Personally, I have realized of the high importance of choosing the right working position that can fulfill my expectations and potential dreams. This is because the job that I take will become my new lifestyle and possibly may be something that I will spend most of my time. Therefore, if I can work on something that I am highly interested in, then I believe I will feel my professional career completed in Taiwan. Being able to enjoy my life properly.

<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; First of all, I am really thankful with CTCI Foundation for the given opportunity and all the attentions and care you provided to us. I found interesting the way Taiwanese companies work and the effort they put in being attentive with us and explain everything in English, although some of them were not multinational companies with a lot of foreigners. This shows the interest of Taiwan to strive for a more internationalized working environment, providing a lot of opportunities for us foreigners, but yet, considering that it is still important for us to learn Mandarin to ensure a better career in Taiwan. It also got my attention that Taiwan offers more opportunities in the technical and engineering areas compared to the business/administration sector; which it is of my interest due to my engineering background, but at the same time, it limits me to apply the knowledge recently acquired within the IMBA program that I just graduated. For the enterprise visit, I would have liked to hear more about job positions of each company, or a description of profiles they are looking for, aside from the excellent business description they provided. Overall, and after being part of this enterprise visit, I consider Taiwan has the potential to become a more internationalized country, which (after spending two years living here) I contemplate as the first option to continue with the development of my professional career.Lastly, I appreciate the help provided by CTCI Foundation’s and ITSC’s staff, and all the people that made this event an important and pleasant way to know more about Taiwan. <P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During this enterprise visit, there are totally five different companies being visited. First, we visited Linkou Thermal Power Plant (Taipower) and Delta’s R&D Center. Taipower plays an important role in providing electricity for Taiwan’s people. As the possibility of lacking of electricity is increasing lately, the three new generating units in Linkou surely help to address the upcoming shortage crisis. Delta, a world famous company for its electronic power supply solution, is the second company we visited. Now Delta is also dedicated into providing solutions for addressing global warming and sustainable energy for green smart building. We also visited Phison Electronic Corporation, it’s specialty is adapting NAND-flash technology across industry, but for me, the most inspiring thing is that two of the five co-founders of Phison are foreigner from Malaysia and Macau. In addition, we also visited A-Pro Tech, a bicycle parts manufacturing company. It plays an important role in global bicycle supply chain and now it plans to go world-wide and open another factory in South-East Asia. The last one is Gallant Precision Machining (GPM) Company, which is very famous for their precision machine products and they are also becoming TSMC’s equipment supplier. We can consider this company as the “real hero” who manufacture our daily used electronic products. As international student, I am very grateful toward the opportunity given by CTCI Foundation and ITSC for introducing us international students to Taiwan companies. Hopefully this can gives us more chances to stay and work in Taiwan.
