From what I observe, the objective on this trip is to connect the international talents and the companies. I think the CTCI Foundation’s staffs have done a great job to achieve this objective. You equip us with the introduction of working visa application process. It is crucial for us to understand the requirements and the process of working visa application so that we can prepare ourselves to meet those requirements. Moreover, by visiting the companies, it can give us a better understanding about the companies and what kind of talents they need. To make it even better, you also provide a way for us to connect with the companies after the trip is over. Yet, I see that there are two areas that this event can improve to make this trip gets even better. First, it seems there is a different focus on each company’s presentation. It will be better if they have the same focus, for instance, put the focus on company introduction and the open positions with its benefit & compensation. Another comment is about the clear dress code. In my opinion, I feel that we’re looked underdressed and don’t look professional enough in the eyes of the companies. There are three words that can summarize how this event impact in my life. The first word is “knowledge.” In the past, I don’t really get much chance to interact with science, engineering, and technologies people. So this event gave me a chance to learn a lot about science and technologies from the companies and other participants. The second word is “networking.” I also got a chance to connect myself with the companies’ professionals and other international students. It can broaden my professional and social networks, and who knows it will open more opportunities for me in the future. The last word is “professionalism.” I learn something from observing the professionals, including the companies’ professionals and CTCI Foundation staffs. One thing I learn is to be a professional it doesn’t mean that you have to be serious all the time. The ability to make others feel comfortable and having a sense of humor are also necessary. Hence, be a professional can be fun too!
